Ericka Mira is a senior member of Headline's clinical team with an impressive array of skills. From an early age she had a love of dance, which developed into performance and later dance teaching. She studied at QUT in the fine arts and dance program, gaining a degree in Health Science.
She continued more in-depth study of the body, with a physiotherapy degree awarded from ACU. Her previous physiotherapy roles have been in providing treatment for children with neuromuscular conditions and general musculoskeletal issues within a general private practice. She has been a Pilates instructor for eight years and is a trained meditation teacher. Ericka has an interest in managing pain through both physical therapies and meditation, using its central nervous system modulation effects.
Having developed a keen interest in head and neck conditions, she has been mentored by Kerry Read. Ericka then sought out the work of ground breaking physiotherapist Mariano Rocobado, to develop a solid base in head, neck and jaw treatment. Finding he no longer teaches locally, Ericka took herself off to Spain to take his Cranio-Cervical course in Spanish, such is her dedication to excellence.
She is also trained in Dry Needling, Watson Headache Management and Cranio-Sacral Therapy. Ericka additionally offers appointments for Zen Thai Shiatsu Therapy. She trained in Vocal Unloading with the incomparable Annie Strauch from Performance Medicine in Melbourne. These skills combined with her innate understanding of how the body works and a naturally empathetic nature, make her a perfect fit for the Headline Team.
